Sen. Little supported the interests of VOICES for Alabama’s Children 100 percent of the time in 2004, the last year for which the organization submitted a tally to vote-smart.org.
Sen. Little has been a strong advocate for continued funding for the Coalition Against Domestic Violence, even while budgets were being slashed. Sen. Little has also voted to strengthen domestic violence laws to protect women and children from abusers.
Desiring to help children affected by abuse and sexual predators, Sen. Little has voted to keep funding for the state’s Children’s Advocacy Centers, a program that puts the state of Alabama ahead of many others.
Not satisfied only with treating young victims, Sen. Little has voted for several measures that would protect children from sexual predators, including minimum mandatory sentences, electronic monitoring, and registration. He also voted to establish a Child Abuse and Neglect Prevention Board.
To further protect children, Sen. Little voted to make it a crime to expose a child to a controlled substance.
