Senator Ted Little Presents $10,000 Grant Check

Recently, Senator Ted Little (D) met with Envision Opelika’s Chairman, Keith Pridgen, Executive Director Barbara Patton, and other members of Envision’s Board of Directors to present a Community Service Grant in the amount of $10,000.00.  This grant is to further assist with the restoration project of the Miriam S. Brown School, which will become an area community cultural and conference center.

Little said, “I have long been an avid supporter of the arts and cultural enhancements.  They provide equal opportunities to people from all walks of life as well as eliminating boundaries based on race, religion, gender or economics.  Envision Opelika is investing in our community in a way that will offer cultural experiences to many who otherwise may not be afforded the opportunity.  Additionally, this project will provide much needed office, conference and workshop space.  By restoring such an historic building with deep community roots, it’s only fitting that a multi-use facility, focused on further enhancing the City of Opelika, revives its strong heritage.”
